Born and raised in Ottawa, saxophonist Dave Neill is a U of T alumnus, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Performance. His instructors included Alex Dean, Mike Murley, Kirk MacDonald, Jim Vivian, Gary Williamson, Tim Ries and Paul Read. Since the completion of his degrees, Dave has become much in demand as a performer, instructor and clinician, and has appeared at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival and the Atlantic Jazz Festival.
Dave has just released his debut CD ‘All In’, with an all-star rhythm section comprised of pianist David Braid, bassist Pat Collins and Anthony Michelli on drums. All In features eight of Dave’s original compositions, and presents a unique take on Bill Evans’ classic composition Blue In Green.
