Jazz trumpeter Chase Sanborn is originally from the NY area, and an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. A mainstay of the bustling music scene in Toronto and a veteran session musician, Chase has played on hundreds of commercial recording dates and logged many hours in the orchestra pit for Broadway musicals. He has toured with Ray Charles, and appeared on stage with Aretha Franklin, Diana Krall and many other jazz and pop artists.
A dedicated and celebrated music educator, Chase Sanborn has published a series of educational books, CDs and DVDs (Jazz Tactics / Brass Tactics / Tuning Tactics / Music Business Tactics). The series has garnered universal praise for their insightful and entertaining approach to playing and teaching music. Chase is a Yamaha Artist and travels frequently to appear as a clinician and guest artist.
Chase has released five CDs under his own name. The latest, Double Double, features duo performances with Mark Eisenman on piano. Previous CDs have featured Rob Piltch and Reg Schwager on guitar, Steve Wallace and Pat Collins on bass and Barry Elmes on drums. Canadian jazz icon Guido Basso appears as a special guest on several of Chase’s recordings.
